School Leaver Employment Supports for you.

Transitioning from school to post-school options can feel daunting, but it should also be a positive and exciting time. We can support school leavers to identify employment goals—such as work experience, volunteering, or paid employment—and build the skills and confidence needed to reach their potential. Through School Leaver Employment Supports (SLES), we provide tailored supports for young people in Years 10, 11, or 12, or those who have recently left school, to actively participate in planning their transition, develop self-advocacy, and focus on their strengths rather than their disability.

Above them are three thought bubbles showing different careers: a woman reading a book in a laboratory, a man wearing a safety vest holding plans on a construction site, and a woman in medical scrubs with a dog. The scene depicts contemplating future careers.

We can assist you:

  • Explore career interests and post-school goals, including employment, further study or training pathways.

  • Build foundational work and life skills such as communication, confidence, time management, and independence.

  • Develop practical experience through volunteering, work experience, or entry-level employment opportunities.

  • Learn workplace expectations, routines and responsibilities to support a smooth transition from school.

  • Increase readiness for long-term employment or study through structured, goal-focused supports.
